Our hospital hosts 3 modern surgery rooms - in accordance with every medical criteria and standard- and an in-patient department with 8 wards, which can accommodate 15 patients at a time. The medical attendance operates in a matrix system to service the wards. In other words, the wards are not assigned permanently to a specialty, in order to avoid a division between internal medicine, surgery or orthopaedics, etc.
Instead, in order to operate in a flexible system the assigned doctor supervises the treatment of the patient and includes a team of attendees who specialize in the particular disease.
In the hospital a 2-bed special attending ward can be found, in which therapeutic beds, patient-watching monitors, pulmonary ventilator and intensive specialist’s presence are guaranteed.
If you and your doctor have decided to undergo surgery, you will be prescribed examinations by your specialist. The ECG, blood picture results and urinalysis are included in the basic examination protocol. However there are certain surgeries which may require additional special screenings (ultrasound). At Dr. Rose Private Hospital the most modern X-ray and ultrasound examination devices, as well as excellent specialists’ experiences are at the disposal of diagnosing mutations which require surgical intervention.
With the support of the documentation which is compiled on the grounds of the check-up, your surgeon will explain the surgery plan, its advantages, disadvantages and possible risk factors. You will be informed about the possible risks involved in the case of no surgery and whether there are any alternative treatment possibilities. All kind of information related to the planned surgery will be shared that is important to you and your doctor.
You will also have a scheduled consultation with the Anaesthetist, who will determine the most practical and safe way to apply anaesthesia for the type of surgery. The Anaesthetist will review your previous medical documentations. If an unknown or not well-treated illness emerges, the doctor will suggest a consultation with a specialist and/or the treatment of your illness before the surgical intervention. (high blood pressure, diabetes, respiratory infection, etc.)
If there are no outstanding uncertainties regarding to your surgery, the date of the surgery will be determined. You will also be informed about any necessary preparations and/or other details (i.e. what you need to bring with you, accommodation arrangements, etc.). You will be given a copy of the information notes and consent letter which you can study, sign and return prior to the surgery.
