I graduated at Budapest Medical University with summa cum laude classification in 1960.
In 1966 I concluded my special examination in Surgery. I started my Surgical activity at the National Traumatological Institute (Országos Traumatológiai Intézet), I then continued at the Surgical Professorship of Doctor Continuation Institute (Orvostovábbképző Intézet). At its successor’s institutions [Doctor Continuation University (Orvostovábbképző Egyetem), SOTE Continuation Department (SOTE Továbbképző Kar), etc.] I continued as a University Lecture besides my continuous lecturing, scientific and organizing work between 1991 and 2002.
In 2002 the Semmelweis Medical University awarded me with the title “Professor Emeritus”.
From 1972 I attended longer and shorter field trips in Sweden, aiming the acquirement of the modern practical and organizational methods of the Proctological Service and the Colorectal Surgery. (St. Eriks Hospital, Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Göteborg, Coloproctological Clinic of Linköping University Hospital – latter invited me as a Lecturer later on).

Publications:
“Proctological patients' surgical treatment” candidate dissertation (1980). 80 Scientific communications, author and/or co-author of more book chapters. I was/am a founder and management member of several Hungarian and International associations, for instance: Hungarian IlCO Association (Magyar IlCO Szövetség), MST. Coloproctological Section (MST. Coloproctológiai Szekció), Hungarian Coloproctological Association (Magyar Koloproktológus Társaság), Hungarian Surgical Association (Magyar Sebész Társaság), Multidisciplinar One-day Surgical Association (Multidiszciplináris Egynapos Sebészeti Társaság), International Academy of Proctology (l978), European Council for Coloproctology (l986-2001), etc.

Pro Sanitate-award (l995), Batthyány-Strattmann László-award (2001), Herczel Manó–award - pro merito coloproctologico Hungarico - (2003), Knight’s Cross Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (Köztársasági Érdemrend Lovagkeresztje) (2004), For Hungarian Surgery Memorial Medal (Magyar Sebészetért Emlékérem) (2006).
