In 1971 I obtained my General Practitioner Medical degree at Semmelweis Medical University. I concluded a special examination in Laboratory Examinations in 1975 and in Urology in 1978. I earned the Candidate title in 1985 and Doctoral title in 1995. I obtained international work experience at the Urologic Department of St. Agnes Hospital in ‘Oberarzt’, Germany, in 1986.
Since 1997 I have been a Director of the Urologic Clinic of General Medical Department of Semmelweis University. During the same year I also started teaching at the university. Since 2000 I have been a president of the National Urologic-, Vocational Training and Postgraduate Council. In the same year I was elected as president of the Urological and Andrological Professional Premium of Semmelweis University. Since 2004 I have attended, as a representative, the general assembly of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Magyar Tudományos Akadémia). Since 2005 I have been a member of the European Urologist Academy and since 2007 of the Senate of Semmelweis University.
In 1999 I was awarded with the Bench award (Nívódíj) of Academy Publisher for the book series “The Urooncology’s actual questions”. In 2004 I received the 1st prize in the “BMA MEDICAL Book Competition” and in 2005 the Batthyány-Strattmann prize and in 2007 the Markusovszky Lajos prize.
I am a member of the German Urologist Association, the American Urologist Association and the Hungarian representative of the “West-Ost” Committee of the German Urologist Association.
