Your specialist determines the exact time of your hospital departure. At departure he will give you your final medical report and will inform you about any possible home care instructions that need to be followed after surgery. Please report yourself at a specific time at the reception desk in order for our colleagues to complete all necessary paperwork and invoices. On request the receptionist can arrange for a transfer to your home. They will also inform you about any follow-up examinations that are required.
Following surgery we suggest that you rather ask one of your relatives and/or friends to accompany you home. During the first few days please do fulfill all activities and movement with help. During the first days after surgery you will feel pain and tension around the wound, which can be treated by pain relieving medication. The self-absorbing stitches will be absorbed during 3-6 months and the non-absorbing stitches will be removed after 4-14 days. We recommend treating wounds with special prescribed creams. During the first week please do not drive. According to the type of the surgery, we recommend lots of rest during the first 3 weeks. Light physical activity such as aerobics is allowed after 3 weeks. Your surgeon will give you personalized post-operative instructions.
